But once the staff came to our house to talk to us about hospice and how they help it made it easier. Golden Rule was the right choice for my mother's home hospice care. From intake through to her passing, the team was very compassionate, knowledgeable, extremely patient, and understanding. Minnie, the nursing aide and Shamille, my mom's nurse, were exceptional and went above and beyond in caring for my mom. They ensured her comfort, cleanliness, peace, and dignity in her final days, and treated our family as an extension of their own. This was an extremely difficult time for me trying to balance being a daughter wanting to make the most of the final time spent with her mom, making the right choices to ensure great care, and handling everyday life responsibilities. Inasmuch as one can be prepared for the inevitable and handling death as a natural part of life, I felt that Golden Rule did their very best to try to support us and to ease the anguish, uncertainties, and ambivalence felt during such a challenging time. I would recommend Golden Rule to others who want home hospice care to feel personal and the humanity of their loved one to be recognized and valued.

Golden Rule Hospice went above and beyond taking care of my 93 year old aunt. From the very beginning when her nurse, Penny, walked into her room I knew I had selected the right hospice company for my aunt. Penny was so compassionate and caring when she came to check on my aunt several times a week. If anything came up, I could call and she would take care of it immediately. I know Penny was there for my aunt but she was also there for me. She would send me texts with encouraging words or scripture or just sometimes just to check on me.Another person that played a key roll in my aunts comfort was her CNA, Ebony. The first day I met her, I once again knew that I had chosen the right hospice company. She was so sweet and kind to my aunt and treated her with the upmost respect. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She came three times a week to help my aunt with her ADL's and my aunt always looked forward to her visits.I am so grateful for these two amazing women along with Stanley, her Chaplin. The entire team is wonderful and was a blessing to me with all of their support and guidance. I would highly recommend Golden Rule and feel so very fortunate that I found them.

Vivian R. Is a treasure. The kindness and care she showed my mother, Ellie Pope, brought comfort to our entire family. Golden Rule Hospice is an amazing group of people. They cared, not only for my 95 year old Father, but our whole family. The entire team is wonderful and I cannot say enough good things about them but I need to give a special shout out to a few people. Ebony, who saw my Dad 3 days a week brought such joy, smiles, laughter and light during difficult days. We all looked forward to her visits and she shared her love with all of us. Harlee, his nurse, has such a kind and loving spirit. Her ability to effectively communicate and take the time to discuss options and the best path for Dad was a blessing. Stanley, the Chaplin who saw my Dad, made such a positive impact on our family, he officiated my Dad’s memorial service. They provided support, comfort, a shoulder to cry on and guidance as we navigated saying goodbye to the best man I have ever known. Their support did not end with my Dad’s passing. Weeks later they still call and text to check in to see how we are holding up. There are so many more people behind the scenes that we did not see regularly but whose support and guidance was invaluable. I have never encountered a business who employs such an extraordinary group of people. We were so very lucky to have found them.

Golden Rule is AMAZING! From the first phone call to Bobbi Love, we knew Golden Rule was the right choice for our Mama. Little did we know how awesome Penny Crews and her team would be. What a blessing! Penny became our family. She was so sweet to Mama and would sit and hold Mama’s hand and discuss anything Mama was feeling - from medicines to fears and everything in between. Charlotte was so precious giving Mama her bath and fixing her hair- Mamas favorite thing. Mama loved singing hymns with Regina. Sunday would be our nurse on the weekends and after hours- and what a treasure he was. Mama was in Penny’s (Golden Rule) care for about 6 months until she passed away. Penny came to her visitation. There are no words to describe how much Golden Rule, Penny Crews and her team meant (and still mean) to us and what a positive affect they had on the end of my Precious Mama’s life and on our family. Thank you SOOO MUCH!

We used Golden Rule Hospice for over a year while my Mom met the eligibility requirements for hospice care…… i can truly say Golden Rule is a phenomenal organization with tremendous caregivers. The entire hospice team assigned to our Mom, in particular her primary care nurse, Penny, were extremely competent professionals and very compassionate in their approach to caring for her. Penny provided us with an update on Mom after every visit and she became like a family member to us. I highly recommend Golden Rule Hospice and have absolutely no reservations in doing so.

Vivian R, CNA, has been providing valuable care for my wife for over 6 months and is an great example of service and dedication to the patient. My wife is in the later stage of dementia and cannot communicate. Vivian works well with the independent caregivers to coordinate to provide a high level of care. Vivian R is my Dad's Hospice CNA, and has been taking care of my Dad for a month now. It (Vivian's help) has been wonderful for my Mom who is overwhelmed with all this. Vivian emits confidence and intelligence in her care of my father who is now bed bound and mostly sleeping. She collaborates with my Dad's private duty CNAs, and her knowledge and bedside manner rubs off on them. Golden Rule has been great, from the time Diana RN met with us and admitted Dad, to the consistency of care provided from his primary Hospice Nurse, Penny.

We've just started hospice Care for dad about 10 days ago. Don't know where to start so I'll start with Chris are Nurse. Outstanding communications never fails to respond to text or calls. Whether prescriptions or supplies he's on top of it. Kiera and Joe visited and I swear this happened. Joe asked dad what has kept him going for 89 years. Dad said family and watching nature out his back sliding glass door. Less than 2 minutes later a Doe and fawn walked by. Joe and Kiera couldn't believe it. Dad said "see what I mean". He has really improved with moms' constant care. 12 days ago in the hospital he was close to leaving us. I know this is a short time so far and who know how things will go but we are having more time with Pop than i ever thought we would Thank You Clay

Words can not express how grateful our family is for Golden Rule Hospice. From the first meeting with Dennis until the end of my mother's life, they were the most fantastic group of people!The care and love that our mother received during the last ten months of her life was exceptional.Penny, my mother's nurse, is one of the most amazing women I have ever known. She is a compassionate and caring nurse who loves her job and her patients. Penny was always there to answer any of our family's questions and quickly came up with solutions. She not only cared for my mother, but she listened to the life stories that my mom loved to share. She held my mom's hand and would give her a big ol' hug. She provided excellent care and respected my mom's wishes, even until the end. Penny is like a family member, and we all love her!Chaplain Joe was there to offer the spiritual support my mom and family needed, but he gave so much more of himself. Joe loves like Jesus. My mom loved sharing her faith with all that would listen, and Joe would undoubtedly listen. I can not imagine going through the experience of losing my mother without the support of Chaplain Joe. Our family will never forget the kindness Joe showed our mom and us!Every contact we had from Golden Rule Hospice was outstanding, but a few went above and beyond during this very emotional time of our lives. Thank you to Kiera for reaching out and ensuring our needs were met at all times. Thank you to Sunday for your gentleness with our mom during those last days. And last but certainly not least, thank you to Caroline for taking such loving care of mom and making sure her earthly body was at its best in those final days.
